Top 10 Championship Designs

Despite what some people believe, the look of a championship title plays a huge role in its significance. After all, if a title looks ugly, why are people fighting for it? Today we are going to take a look at the ten greatest championship designs in WWE history.

Dishonorable Mention. The Original WWE Championship

We have come a long way in championship belt design folks!

10. ECW World Heavyweight Championship

A championship should represent the show that it is being defended on. The old ECW World Heavyweight Championship showed the angst of the hardcore brand like no other title could.

9. New Generation Era World Tag Team Championship

A uniquely-shaped front plate and bright red letter are what make this championship stand out.

8. NXT Championship

WWE's developmental brand NXT has some excellent talent on its roster, all fighting for this sleek and modern world title.

7. Raw/SmackDown Women's Championship

With white straps to make them stand out, the colorful front plates denote which of WWE's flagship shows these beauties are defended on.

6. World Heavyweight Championship

"The Big Gold Belt" is large and in charge, with a design so good that it was one of the few things Vince McMahon kept from WCW.

5. Women's Tag Team Championship

The shining example of how to make a title standout, the crazy front plate and white strap make this pair of championships worth fighting for. These titles prove that WWE can still design good-looking belts.

4. Attitude Era WWF Championship

Taking hints from the World Heavyweight Championship, the large, winged-eagle front plate and Broadway lettering made this the perfect title for those with "Attitude."

3. WWE Championship

Nothing screams "This is our company's title" like replacing a front plate with a giant display of your company's logo. Props to the creator though, the craftsmanship on this title is absolutely insane.

2. 1986 WWF Championship

While this title design didn't last long, it made its way into my heart. I love the admittedly weird front plate, and the arrangement of flags on the side plates reminds everyone that this is a WORLD championship.

1. Intercontinental Championship (White)

The longest-tenured championship on this list, the design of the Intercontinental Championship is so iconic that is has spanned three decades. The retro look is wicked, paying homage to the former holders while showing respect to the current champion. Why WWE decided to recently change the design is beyond me. HUGE MISTAKE
