Segment #1 (Kickoff): Jeff Hardy tears the house down with Cesaro in return match
If this performance by Jeff Hardy is anything to go by, "ring rust" seems to be a thing of the past. Squaring off against Cesaro, Hardy showed why he is one of the greatest of all time. A clash of styles, Cesaro's technical mastery going against Hardy's aerial assaults. Despite Cesaro using his strength and power advantage to wear Jeff down, Hardy was able to use his veteran instincts to hit a Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb for the victory. I look forward to more matches between this two in the coming weeks.

Segment #2: A chaotic SmackDown Tag Team Championship match opens the main show
In a high-stakes, high-energy match-up, The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) had multiple factors to keep an eye on to retain their SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Taking on The Miz & John Morrison, Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado), and The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler), New Day showed why they eight-time champions. The high-flying members of the Lucha House Party shined against the hard-knocks members of The Forgotten Sons. The brawlers had the edge for awhile, but The Miz & John Morrison snaked their way into gaining control. The members of New Day were able to brute force their way through the chaos though, retaining their titles in the process.

Segment #3: Bobby Lashley replaces MVP in match against R-Truth; Truth wasn't prepared
After making their way to the ring, R-Truth and MVP had a comical exchange in which Truth poked fun at MVP for being "ballin'." This prompted Bobby Lashley to come to the ring, and after he told MVP to take the night off, he decided to have a match against R-Truth instead. Lashely dominated Truth, finishing him off with a devastating Spear.

Segment #4: Tamina isn't able to overcome the wily SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley
As soon as the match began, Bayley showed off her confidence (arrogance) in her ability to retain the SmackDown Women's Championship against Tamina. After slapping Tamina around for a few moments, the champion was laid out by a viscous clothesline. Bayley was able to regain control by targeting her larger opponent's legs, but Tamina was able to rebound with an angry burst of energy after Bayley through water in her face. A distraction from Sasha Banks allowed Bayley to pick up the win with a quick roll-up.

Segment #5: Braun Strowman uses mind games to defeat Bray Wyatt
Understandably, Braun Strowman was expecting to be facing off against "The Fiend" in his Universal Championship match. To his and our surprise however, Bray Wyatt emerged from the curtain. This shock threw Strowman off balance, leading to Bray taking control early on. In fact, Strowman was so disturbed, that it was only thanks to his incredible endurance that he was able to kick out of Sister Abigail. Wyatt isn't the only one who utilize mind games though. Strowman reentered the ring after being thrown out wearing his old black sheep mask. It looked as though Wyatt's constant begging had finally gotten to the champion, and he had gone back to the dark side. This was all a ruse by Strowman though. He threw the mask off, stomped on it, and then caught Wyatt in a Running Powerslam for the victory.

Segment #6: Drew McIntyre proves he is a better man than Seth Rollins in WWE Championship defense
Taking control right away, Drew McIntyre used his strength and power to fluster Seth Rollins. "The Monday Night Messiah" regained focus quickly though, dismantaling his larger opponent by taking out his legs with some stiff strikes and painful submission moves. McIntyre's fighting spirit kept him alive though, with Rollins looking flabbergasted at just how much punishment his opponent could take. After kicking out of some heavy offense, McIntyre was able to regain his footing just enough to hit a brutal Claymore Kick on Rollins. Afterwards, McIntyre offered his hand for Rollins to shake, which he did. The WWE Championship is staying firmly around the waist of "The Scottish Psychopath" for now.

Segment #7: The Money in the Bank Ladder matches steal the show with some surprise victories
Taking place at the same time, the Men's and Women's Money in the Bank Ladder matches were chaotic from the start. Starting on the ground floor, the men (AJ Styles, Otis, Rey Mysterio, Aleister Black, King Corbin, and Daniel Bryan) battled in the WWE HQ gym, while the women (Shayna Baszler, Dana Brooke, Asuka, Nia Jax, Carmella, and Lacey Evans) all brawled in the lobby. While the sprawling race to the roof was going on, we got some nice cameos from Brother Love and Doink the Clown as well as a food fight involving Paul Heyman and John Laurinaitis. The chaos continued on the roof, eventually leading to Asuka and Otis walking away the winners, while Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black were thrown off the roof.
