Segment #1: Shinsuke Nakamura jumps to the front of the Universal Championship contenders line
After five years on the WWE main roster, Braun Strowman has finally won the Universal Championship after defeating Goldberg at WrestleMania 36. Shortly after coming out to celebrate his momentous victory, Strowman was quickly interrupted by "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura. Shinsuke was quick to remind "The Monster Among Men" that the last time they faced off, it was Nakamura who came out on top. Strowman, still seeking revenge for losing the Intercontinental Championship, promised that Nakamura would "Get These Hands" in tonight's main event. A short distraction by Nakamura's friend Cesaro allowed Shinsuke to land a clean kick to Strowman's face. Is the new Universal Champion able to pull through this two on one situation?
Segment #2: The Women's Tag Team Championships are retained in WrestleMania 36 rematch
It would appear that nothing is strong enough to break the bond of the friendship between Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. Less than a week after winning the Women's Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 36, the new champions defended their titles against the team they beat at "The Showcase of the Immortals," The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane). The best friends made quick work of their opponents, and are on their way to a lengthy title reign.
Segment #3: Tucker seeks vengeance against Dolph Ziggler, but falls short
After being brutalized by Dolph Ziggler last week, Heavy Machinery's Tucker was looking to inflict some punishment on Ziggler. Dolph wasn't too thrilled at losing to Tucker's partner Otis at WrestleMania 36, and he wasn't in the mood for Tucker's distraction. After a short but admittedly athletic contest, Ziggler finished Tucker off with a Superkick. It doesn't look like the Otis/Ziggler/Mandy Rose love triangle will be stopping anytime soon.
Segment #4: The war isn't over for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Ecstatic about their WrestleMania 36 victory, The Miz and John Morrison held the "Dirt Sheet" to remind their opponents that they still hold the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. The Usos (Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso) came out to plant seeds of division between the champions, pointing out that Morrison was the only one who did any work at WrestleMania 36. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) then appeared, letting the champions know that next week there would be another Triple Threat match for the titles. Who will come out on top next week?
Segment #5: The Forgotten Sons are dominant in their main roster debut
It isn't uncommon for debuts to be made on the SmackDown after WrestleMania weekend. This time, it was NXT team The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler, Wesley Blake, & Jaxson Ryker) making their presence known. Taking on the Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado), The Forgotten Sons made it clear they will be "Forgotten No More."
Segment #6: Tamina gains to opportunity to become the number one contender for the SmackDown Women's Championship
After narrowly retaining her SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 36, Bayley was looking to gloat. The champion and friend Sasha Banks made it clear that their friendship is still intact. This may not be the case very soon, especially after what Bayley did after hearing Tamina's request for a championship match. Bayley, not quite ready to fight Tamina, told her that if she can beat Sasha Banks, she will get a shot at the title. Banks didn't look to happy about being used as a sacrificial lamb, but we'll have to wait until next week to see what happens.
Segment #7: Sheamus continues to tear through the SmackDown roster
"The Celtic Warrior" Sheamus has not been in a good mood since returning to WWE a few months ago. He believes that the current roster is weak, and what he did to Cal Bloom tonight proves his point. Sheamus toyed with Bloom, finally finishing him off with a brutal Brogue Kick. After the match, Sheamus stared angrily at the commentators, and then stomped off.
Segment #8: A surprise guest appears after Braun Strowman takes on Shinsuke Nakamura
Braun Strowman was not happy about getting hit with a cheap shot from Shinsuke Nakamura earlier on in the night. Even with Cesaro in his corner, Nakamura was not ready for Strowman. "The Monster Among Men" pummeled "The King of Strong Style" getting an easy victory with the Running Powerslam. Strowman didn't have long to celebrate though, as Bray Wyatt appeared on the TitanTron. Braun didn't seem phased by the manic Wyatt's mind games, but only time will tell.
