Top 10 Greatest Talkers

While in-ring talent is undeniably important, the thing that brings fans back to wrestling is the characters and drama. Superstars who can't act/tell a story are not going to last. Those with charisma and an articulate way of speaking oftentimes find themselves the most important people on the show. Let's take a look at ten greatest talkers in WWE history!

10. John Cena

Despite what some wrestling purists think about his wrestling ability, no one can deny that Cena hypes a crowd up like nobody else.

9. Ric Flair

"The limosuine ridin', jet flyin', kiss stelain', wheelin' dealin', son of a gun" has some of the most quotable lines in pro wrestling history.

8. CM Punk

The purveyor of verbal pipe-bombs, CM Punk knows how to tear into an opponents psyche.

7. Kevin Owens

No one in recent WWE history can talk trash like KO. No wonder the crowd chants "Fight. Owens. Fight."

6. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

It is safe to say that the only reason "Piper's Pit" existed was for "The Hot Rod" to spit fire at his guests.

5. Mick Foley

No matter what character Foley was portraying, he always delivered an emotional heart-wrencher.

4. Jake "The Snake" Roberts

You should never trust a snake, especially not one with as silver a tongue as this one.

3. Chris Jericho

Throughout his 20+ year career, Chris Jericho has been the king of comedic wrestlers, with no one else even coming close.

2. The Rock

"The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment" can whip a crowd into a frenzy without having to say anything. When he does speak, it is as close to perfection as someone with a microphone can have.

1. Paul Heyman

To be a great talker, you must understand the audience you are speaking to. Paul Heyman gets wrestling fans, and forms his sentences based off of their temperament and energy. He can be a corporate stooge one day, and a leader of vigilante heroes the next. Heyman can sell an event like no one else. Even Vince McMahon can't shill his product so well.
