Segment #1: Daniel Bryan defeats King Corbin via DQ in Money in the Bank preview match
Opening the show, Daniel Bryan expressed his excitement at being able to compete in the most-unique Money in the Bank Ladder match in history. Being a former Mr. Money in the Bank himself, Bryan is pretty confident going in to the event. However, no one is as confident (arrogant) as King Corbin, who has also won the match before. Daniel Bryan was quick to let Corbin know that although he won the match, he is also one of the four men in history to unsuccessfully cash in the Money in the Bank contract. This led to a match against the two, in which Bryan's technical prowess over-matched Corbin's power. This led Corbin to slam a ladder into Bryan, allowing him to capture a DQ victory over "The King of the Ring." Aftwards, Corbin's lackeys, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura, came down to assist in a beat-down of Bryan.
Segment #2: Bray Wyatt interrupts Braun Strowman with "The Firefly Funhouse"
The Universal Champion Braun Strowman marched to the ring to let Bray Wyatt know that he intends on retaining the title in their championship match at Money in the Bank. Strowman was quickly interrupted by Wyatt, who invited the champion to listen to a story. Bray recounted he and Strowman's time together as members of The Wyatt Family, and blamed Braun for breaking the family up. The final chapter of the Bray/Braun saga will be written at Money in the Bank, but who will be the author?
Segment #3: Sheamus is ready for Jeff Hardy's return
After Sheamus squashed the hopes of another upstart talent, this time Leon Ruff, he proudly marched over to the commentary table and got right into Michael Cole's face. "The Celtic Warrior" has had his problems with Cole over the past few weeks, because it seems that every time he is on screen, Cole begins to talk about Jeff Hardy instead. Sheamus vowed that there will be a surprise in store for Hardy when he returns next week.
Segment #4: Sonya Deville's distraction causes Mandy Rose to lose Money in the Bank qualifying match
The bitter feud between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville just keeps getting more and more intense. Rose was feeling confident going in to her Money in the Bank qualifying match against Carmella, particularly because she knew that her boyfriend Otis was cheering her on. However, that confidence quickly faded, as halfway through the match Sonya Deville came out to distract "Gods's Greatest Creation." This distraction allowed Carmella to pick up the win, while Rose was left a bruised heap after a nasty knee strike from Deville.
Segment #5: The Forgotten Sons make a huge impact against The New Day
It would seem that The Miz and John Morrison are going to have some stiff competition for the number one contender-ship for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Despite their several years of success as a team, The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E) couldn't pick up the victory over The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler). Admittedly, the newcomers only one with some interference from their ringleader Jaxson Ryker. Perhaps things would have gone differently had Xavier Woods' not been injured.
Segment #6: Otis defeats Dolph Ziggler to qualify for Money in the Bank
In a WrestleMania 36 rematch, Otis took on Dolph Ziggler in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. The bitter enemies each had moments to tee off on each other. Otis used his size and strength to wear Ziggler down. Dolph was able to use his speed and athleticism is take the big man off his feet on multiple occasions. In the end though, it was Otis picking up the win after hitting The Caterpillar. One can only imagine the celebration Otis had with Mandy Rose after the match.
