RESULTS

Segment #1: "The Kevin Owens Show" ends in chaos (as per usual)

Kevin Owens made his way to the ring to host "The Kevin Owens Show," thanking those NXT superstars who decided to be in the audience tonight. Owens welcomed his guest for the evening, the Raw Women's Champion, Asuka. After the two had a bit of banter, interruptions galore began. First it was Charlotte Flair, who reminded the champion that she has beaten her at every opportunity. Next came Natalya, who apologized to Owens for wrecking his set last week. Finally came Nia Jax, who was quick to let Asuka know that she would beat her at Backlash. Kevin Owens darted out of the ring before a brawl ensued.

Segment #2: We have a new United States Championship in Apollo Crews

After a knee injury in their last contest, Apollo Crews was looking for a fiery rebound against the United States Champion Andrade. He came out of the gate quick, toppling Andrade with an impressive delayed vertical suplex. "El Idolo" fought back though, dominating Crews with a series of intense blows. Crews never gave up, and kept finding ways to kick out before Andrade could get the victory. A nice combination of a military press, a standing moonsault, and then a standing shooting star press that eventually brought Crews to victory. Congratulations to the new United States Champion!

Segment #3: The IIconics want their Women's Tag Team Championships back

The IIconics (Peyton Royce & Bille Kay) came out to the ring to address the situation that happened last week. They reminded the audience that it would take a lot more than a little slap to destroy their friendship. This prompted Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, the Women's Tag Team Champions to come out to the ring and lambaste The IIconics for thinking that they had sacrificed as much as the champions had. This led The IIconics to go on the attack, laying the champions lying in the ring.

Segment #4: "The VIP Lounge" goes as well as expected

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre came down to the ring after being introduced as the guest on MVP's "The VIP Lounge." Drew tore apart the set, preparing for an ambush from his Backlash opponent Bobby Lashley. MVP assured his guest that no such attack was coming. He also let Drew know that he is looking forward to having a role in Drew losing the championship, because Drew never accepted his managerial offer from months ago. This led McIntyre to lay him out with a Claymore Kick, all while Bobby Lashley watched from the stage.

Segment #5: Angel Garza defeats Kevin Owens

Earlier, while on "The Kevin Owens Show," Kevin Owens made it known that he was having a match against Angel Garza later on in the night. Wanting to prove himself to his business manager Zelina Vega, because Andrade couldn't do so earlier on in the night, Garza attacked Owens from behind before the match even began. He wanted to punish KO, ripping his leg apart for the opening moments of the bout. Owens was able to rally a little bit, but with only being able to use one leg, he wasn't able to mount much offense. Garza hit the Wing Clipper for the win.

Segment #6: The Street Profits vs. The Viking Raiders contests continue

After challenges in both basketball and ax-throwing, The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) and The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) decided to face each other in a round of golf. After failing so bad that they got thrown off the golf course, they decided to face each other in mini-golf. Unsurprisingly, The Street Profits ended up getting the win.

Segment #7: Seth Rollins' "Disciples" stand tall over Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo

With Disciples Murphy and newcomer Austin Theory by his side, it appears that no one can stop "the Monday Night Messiah" Seth Rollins. Although it was their first match as a team, Murphy and Theory were able to mesh together really well. Taking on Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo, the Disciples were able to use the encouragement from Rollins to find victory. Afterwards, Seth talked about how Rey Mysterio was sacrificed for the greater good, and many more would follow.

Segment #8: The Number One Contender Triple Threat match steals the show

After the brawl that opened the show, Charlotte Flair, Natalya, and Nia Jax were looking to tear each other apart. And they did just that! Given Jax's clear power advantage, Flair and Natalya worked together to eliminate her from the equation, even putting her through the announce table at one point. This led the two technicians to have a short classic in the ring, going hold for hold along the way. However, Jax didn't stay down for long, and after hitting Natalya with a Samoan Drop, picked up the win. I can't wait to see Asuka vs. Jax at Backlash.

Segment #9: Bobby Lashley and MVP defeat The Street Profits

After being dominated by Drew McIntyre earlier, Bobby Lashley and MVP were looking to release some of their frustrations. They quickly and surprisingly dominated The Street Profits, who were more focused on their mini-golf win than this match. Afterwards, Drew came out to attack Lashley, while the horde of NXT superstars in the crowd attempted to break them up.
