Rob Van Dam makes his WWE Debut


On May 12, 1997, fans of WWE (then WWF) were greeted to the first WWE appearance of Rob Van Dam. RVD, an ECW wrestler at the time, entered WWE as part on an interpromotional feud with Jerry "The King" Lawler, in which ECW talent tried to invade WWE. Audiences quickly fell in love with RVD's aerial, unorthodox performances, and he is considered by many to be the greatest high-flyer of all time.
